Project Watershed chapters are forming now. Every chapter starts the same way: adopt one utility, run one grade, make one presentation.
The Model
What a chapter does
Research
Adopt your local utility. Pull its publicly available water audit data. Run its grade using the Project Watershed methodology. Understand what your community is actually paying for.
Advocate
Share your findings publicly, on social media, on your chapter's page on our website, and with local news outlets. We're building the infrastructure to make this automatic: every chapter will get a login, upload their utility's data, and the site will turn it into public charts and visuals.
Create Change
Put your findings in front of the people who can act on them: city council, your utility board, and local policymakers. A grade only matters if it reaches someone with the power to fix what it shows.
Chapter Requirements
What joining actually requires
Regular
- Monthly chapter meetings to review local utility data and coordinate advocacy actions
- Minimum of 5 members per chapter
- Posts to their own chapter social media, press outlet
- Contribution to the national report card data collection each spring
- Attend Watershed Summit (More Details Coming Soon)
Additionally
- School awareness campaigns around the annual report card release
- Community events and public education efforts
- Outreach to your local utility directly
